The Nexen Building, at one time known as the Nova Building, is one structure in Calgary that I admire. I even worked in it briefly in the early 80's
I have wanted to do a series of pictures on it for a while. Here is my start.

"Easter weekend"... a wet drive home.
An image from our drive back to Iowa. Spent Easter weekend at Bruce's mother's home. Driving down hwy 80. We hit one of many pot holes in the middle of the interstate. Bruce noticed one of the hubcaps rolling towards the ditch...
So we pull over and he runs back to get it. As you can see, it was raining pretty good. he comes back and it's not the right one... so back he goes... and returns with the matching hubcap. He said there were about 12-15 hubcaps laying in that ditch. Might have been a cool picture... but I was nice-n-dry. ;-)
After driving a couple of miles. we get off in "Peru" to check out the Target store. I wanted to search for any "Batman" Easter stuff on clearance... a funny looking warning light shows up on the dash. So he starts flipping through the manual while I went-a-hunting.
By the time I got back. The reason was clear... a tire was flat... completely... and the wheel was bent. By this point, Bruce is trying to get some help from "roadside assistance". Which he started paying for when he bought the car a few months earlier... they were pretty much giving him the run around. wanting him to get towed to "Peoria" for service. Which, of course, is in the opposite direction from where we were going... and there was no guarantee that it would be fixed that day.
They did end up sending someone local to put the spare tire on. The trunk was full(you'd think it was Christmas). So we hauled all the stuff into the back seat... the local guy was real friendly, had one visible tooth, and said "Goodyear" could probably "bang" the dent out of the rim to get a tight seal... Goodyear just happened to be across the street.
So after dealing with "roadside" for about 40 minutes(Bruce can be persistent). We decided to see what Goodyear could do... they said they would try. They did, it worked, and only cost $20.
I told Bruce he needed to cancel that roadside crap and get "AAA" or something.
